Our school is in a rural community and it is a home away from home for many teachers and students. I love these students because they have learned that the counselor's classroom is a place for comfort. They look to me for a friendly smile, hug, or even a question to be answered.
I have always carried a counselor's notebook around with me to write notes, however, with technology moving at a steady increase, I thought this year I would allow my students to check in using the Ipad.
The students would use the iPad to do their daily or weekly check-ins with the counselor. Last year our district used a Social Emotional Screener for the students and this program allows check-ins for the students.
