In our classroom, we celebrate what makes each of us unique. To reflect this value in our reading, we're launching a diversity-themed book club. The goal is to give students access to stories that showcase a wide range of cultures, experiences, and identities—books where they can see themselves and learn about others.
To do this, we need to add sets of diverse, inclusive novels, checkout cards and library pockets to help students borrow and return books responsibly.
These tools will help us build a book club where stories are shared and voices are heard. The checkout system teaches responsibility, while the books themselves open doors to new perspectives and powerful conversations.
With your support, students will read stories featuring characters from different races, cultures, religions, family structures, and abilities. They’ll learn empathy, build confidence, and strengthen community—all while growing as readers. Help us build a book club where every student feels seen and every story matters.
