This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Teach the children well and let them lead the way," this line is from Greatest Love of All, by Michael Masser and Linda Creed. I firmly believe what the song says. We must teach the children well as they are the future of this country and we will need to depend on them to lead the way into a bright future.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds.
They also have diverse ability levels. We are in a large school district that has been severely hit by budget cuts. We have very few supplies and there is definitely no money to be spent on "extras". My class is full of curious students who love to learn through hands-on lessons. They are bright and enjoy learning. They need exposure to lessons that cannot be taught using just the materials supplied by our district.
My Project
The chart paper, markers, cardstock, Post-its, and stickers will all be used to create and have students interact with anchor charts that we will create as a class.
Using these charts will help solidify student learning and keep them accountable.
Students will use Post-it Notes and stickers to show their learning by posting responses to questions or tasks on charts. The markers and chart paper will be used to create the charts. The cardstock can be used for mini charts or task cards that work in unison with the larger charts.
