Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The world has changed and we need to adapt.
This is my 11th year as a kindergarten teacher at my school.
I teach 20 kindergarten students in an ICT education classroom at a low-income school in New York City.
They are a great group of kids who are extremely inquisitive and want to learn more. They try hard on a daily basis and want to do well educationally, emotionally and behaviorally. They celebrate their successes and know when they need extra support to help meet their needs.
My Project
My students come from a mix of learning abilities. In order to reach all of my students, visuals are key in the kindergarten classroom.
Visual learning in kindergarten will enhance each lesson and meet the needs of all of my students.
The chart paper helps tremendously when providing my students with visuals during each lesson. This could include poems, pictures, matching, etc. I want to provide my students with all of the tools and resources necessary to succeed. This chart paper will bring us one step closer in that direction.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
