This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking. They come from a low socioeconomic area of New York, and they never allow their circumstances to dictate how their days should go despite how most of their days start. This year I work with a group of students that need exposure to a more rigorous curriculum.
All of my students' access to meet the grade requirements started off shaky, but they are making gains every day.
Through project based work, they will have every opportunity to meet and exceed the requirements.
My Project
I am requesting and am in need of chart paper due to budget cuts and the need for students to have access to review important lesson takeaways on their own. I will be using the materials for word study and reading activities to chart strategies and words to expand their vocabulary to meet the standards set forth for students to meet this year. It is imperative to get these materials to provide a robust and colorful learning environment where students can feel valued as they learn and have access to content.
