I work at a Title 1, K-8 school in North Carolina. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our students are economically at a disadvantage and often rely on the school and/ or the staff to provide many of their school supplies. On any given day, students don't have the needed materials required to be successful at school.
I work with with a group of fifth graders that are eager to learn and have lots of personality!
The students can't wait to get in the building and start their day. They want to learn and succeed. With the appropriate level of support and instructional materials, I know that my students can and will be successful.
My Project
With 90 students rotating through my classroom on a daily basis for math instruction, disinfectant wipes are a must! We use them daily to wipe down our desks and clean our classroom so students can stay healthy and in class so they can learn.
Post-it note chart paper may not seem like a big idea, but in math class it's a valuable tool for student learning.
This large chart paper will be use to display examples of problem solving strategies that students will reference as needed. The table top chart paper will be used when I pull small groups for explicit modeling.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
