I teach thirty-four happy and excited-to-learn fifth graders, and all day long they have fun growing and thinking, and trying their best. Our school is a wonderful, small multicultural school located in Los Angeles. Over 32% of the students at our school qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and everyone receives free breakfast. Our school specializes in integrating art and technology with our academic subjects. My students learn best when I generate excitement for learning.
We currently have a class set of LEGO WeDo robots, but our iPads no longer have working charging devices, which are essential for building and programming our robots!
My Project
My fifth grade students want to use our class set of LEGO WeDo robots, but we are currently unable to do so because we first need to charge our classroom iPads. I have requested charging devices and charging cords so we can easily charge our iPads. Our prior charging devices no longer work, so having these resources would be wonderful!
I have also requested Elmer's Glue so our class can work on a STEM experiment called Glubber.
My students will use the glue to make different variations of Glubber and measure how much their Glubber can stretch, bounce, and how long an imprint can hold its shape. Having glue for this fantastic experiment is essential!
