Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Due to Hurricane Harvey, our school, as well as the district, has lost funds. This has affected the supplies our principal tries so hard to give our students. My school is located in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. The students must be in a lower income bracket to qualify for pre-k. Many of their parents are either from Hispanic countries or are first generation Americans. It is in the classroom that my four and five year olds first develop their feelings about school, learning how it relates to them. They come in eager and ready to learn about the world around them. They especially love learning through play .

My Project

The materials chosen for this project will add to the daily stem activities already used in my classroom.

The Magnetic Pattern Builders enables children to use their creativity and introduce hands on experiences with geometry.

The Translucent Imagination Builders help the students explore light and color as well as build fine motor skills.

The plastic case is needed to protect our iPad from damage.

Finally the charging station dock will keep our iPads charged and ready to use during our centers in math and language arts. This will eliminate our wasting time over iPads that are not ready to use.

These learning experiences that my students are exposed to help influence how they feel towards math and technology in the future.
