This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the most amazing people who make me laugh every day! I teach a first-grade bilingual classroom in Rogers Park. First grade is my favorite age because I get to see the students collaborate with each other and fall in love with reading.

My Project

My classroom currently has three iPads that we use during literacy centers. They are incredibly effective and engaging and the students love using them. Because I have 25 students, I am not able to meet with each small group every day.

iPads provide a fun, engaging, individualized literacy learning experience for my students.

We currently do not have enough chargers in order for a whole group to use them. This charging station and extra iPad would ensure that one literacy group per day is able to do meaningful activities through technology.
