Our second-graders love to engage and challenge each other. They come to school excited to see each other, ready to share, and explore learning.
Our kids focus on building relationships and partnering with peers to see learning from different perspectives.
We work hard to understand our different experiences and background which gives us all an opportunity to learn from each other. We love to communicate with each other and ask questions. The best part is when we notice the learning and celebrate together.
My Project
Finding a book you love can make a difference in your reading life. As second-graders are growing their reading abilities, it's so important that they are engaged with daily reading.
Finding a book that has a character you can relate to and see yourself in, can create a reader for life.
Our goal is to allow all children to find characters that have the same ethnicity and notice that everyone can be found in a book.
By providing students with a collection of high-interest and just-right leveled books that are written by a diverse group of authors, we are hopeful that these books will enhance the reading experience for all students in our classrooms.
