My Students

A typical day of mine is spent visiting classrooms teaching lessons on character traits such as respect, kindness, trustworthiness, fairness, responsibility, etc. I also touch on not bullying and not doing drugs. The kids enjoy having books read to them and doing an art project that goes with it.

I teach every kid in the school.

They range from preK-5. The school is small (about 250 kids) and feeds from a very high level poverty area of town. Many of the children have special needs and are at risk. The children need guidance and look to their guidance counselor teacher for much help in life.

My Project

The children will use these books to learn about character traits that will help them in life. They will learn about respect, responsibility, fairness, kindness, friendship, not bullying, not doing drugs, careers they can one day possibly have, and much more.

This project will make a difference because these children will have good character traits modeled to them in many ways.

Many of the children come from broken homes and homes with problems. School is the only place many of them will learn good character traits, learn to not bully, and learn to not do drugs. These books will hopefully help to mold these children into becoming better people with better futures.
