My Project
My hope is to help ALL students, regardless of their reading level love chapter books. In my years of teaching I have noticed that students often do not feel confident or interested in reading chapter books. For some, they have become so used to reading graphic novels that chapter books seem entirely uninteresting. For others, chapter books seem like something they could never read independently.
The books I have selected are both high interest and at a level that my third graders can read successfully.
If I can help them become chapter book readers as third graders, they are significantly more likely to read them as they get older and become stronger readers!
