Each day after lunch recess we come inside and the students listen to me read a chapter from our current chapter book. The students love this time of the day and feel so grown up as they listen to the chapter book. For most of my students this is their first experience with chapter books and they really fall in love with stories during this listening time.
This project will provide a variety of chapter books for my kindergarten students.
We can finish a chapter book in about a week or two and we need some new titles to keep up the interest. The books requested include MegaBat, Princess in Black, Lulu and the Brontosaurus and other high interest titles for kindergarten-aged students
This project will also provide some new floor puzzles for the students. My goal every two weeks is to have two new floor puzzles available for student use. This project will provide our classroom with new puzzles with a variety of themes (safari, children and farm). By constantly rotating the puzzles it keeps the student interest high. Putting puzzles together is great for spatial awareness and problem solving.
