Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an 8th grade Mathematics teacher working in a low economic community with 97% of these students struggling with the english language. As much as my students are willing to learn it is a constant struggle with the language barrier, but their willingness to not give up is what amazes me every single day.

I love each and every one of my students as if they were my own.

It is my responsibility to provide them with that safe haven to learn without judgement, to learn and not worry about anything else. I am their voice when they can not voice for themselves and will continue to guide them in order to be successful in life.

My Project

The ball chairs I selected will help my students make more effective learning choices. It will serve as alternate seating choice that will allow my students to be less off task. Besides having a language barrier, my students also struggle with staying still and staying on task. They truly do try to do their best but need a little outside help.

I am 100% positive that these materials will help my students stay focused and engaged in the classroom allowing them the opportunity to succeed.

I have seen how fidget materials have helped students in other classrooms and I am hoping to provide this opportunity for my students. It will not only affect my student's work but will improve their behavior.
