Hi! I appreciate you reading about my wonderful students. I teach at a high school that the population is a full Title One school. Most of my students are Native American and come from low-income families. I have been teaching for twenty-two years and this is my first year at this high school. This project is for my freshmen. Many of them have never completely read a novel. They have expressed interest in The Hunger Games and I hope I can raise the money to have this project take off.
My Project
My students have expressed interest in reading the novel The Hunger Games. I have developed where my students will not only explore the world in the novel , but look at current issues in society and how to be a positive citizen in the world. To change the world and our role will be a major part of the project. Many of my students are not avid readers and for them to express interest in this book I see as a positive and that they are becoming excited to learn something new. Many have never completely finished reading a novel, I hope this novel will change that.
