Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a public 1st grade classroom where the students are taught half of the day in Spanish or Portuguese and the other half is English. Between my partner teacher and I we shard forty-six students. At this school, we consider each other a family. We see many of the family members of the students early in the morning during the car-loop drop off and during parent pick-up. Many of the students play in after-curricular activities together for years so they develop a friendship that almost seems like a family. They care, support and encourage each other every day to try their best and celebrate their accomplishments.
Determined, energetic, and fearless; my students are ready for whatever curveball is thrown their way.
Even though they are young they are devoted to learning the ins and outs of every technologic equipment, as the generation of tomorrow, they need to be prepared to be expose to a world of technologic tools to contribute to the world.
My Project
These materials will help my students research and keep accurate data related to their STEAM project. With these materials my students will be able to research how to make a solar oven to cook meals such as S'mores. These materials will also allow the students to contribute to the STEAM project even when English is not their primary language. With these materials the sky will be the limit and the knowledge and experience they gain will be timeless and remembered forever. These materials will also allow for the students to take pictures, instantly print photos and documents. Thank you for helping facilitate my student's learning
