My Students

Help! We need new technology to help us with remote learning!

I teach in a diverse, low-income school in Queens NY in an ICT classroom where some students have special needs.

My students are a diverse group of learners whose families have been deeply affected by the coronavirus pandemic financially and emotionally. This current school year will be unlike any other. Many families do not have the means for basic supplies that are desperately needed whether in-class learning or at home. To help make learning remotely easier for the little ones, I am requesting donations to purchase wireless mouses and headphones with microphones to help make remote learning more effective.

My Project

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, teaching will not be the same this year. The model selected for NYC schools is a hybrid learning model where some days the students will receive instruction in person, and other days the students will be receiving instruction at home remotely.

The wireless mouses and headphones with microphones I am requesting will make a difference in my student's learning at home because it will ease the use of the laptop and the headphones will help them hear me better while limiting exterior distraction and sound.

These items will be used primarily at home for their remote learning days.

When I am teaching phonics lessons, the headphones will help my students hear me better and I will be able to hear them make the sounds better with the microphone. The wireless mouse will be used daily for the students to navigate through Google Classroom and any other assigned activities. Please help us reach our goal of having a successful remote learning year.
