This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Good order is the foundation of all things".~ Edmund Burke. Do you remember you elementary school classroom? I do. Everything was perfectly placed and easily accessible. In today's classrooms, with over thirty kids, organization and structure is an ongoing problem.

Our school is an elementary school in NYC which is also a Title 1 school.

Our school holds classrooms from pre-k to fifth grade. Each grade has one ICT class which includes both special education and general education. My classroom is a first grade ICT classroom.

My Project

Our classroom is limited in space since there are about 30 students in the class. The students cannot navigate the classroom since it is not as organized as it could be. This project will provide our students with a classroom that is accessible and conducive to learning. By the use of these materials, such as, a leveled library, a reading area, paper organization holders, and chair organizers, my students would be able read books on their level and be able to increase their reading level and comprehension skills. Additionally, our students would be able to organize their work so that no time is wasted.

The resources that this project will provide will allow for our students to have access and provide an organized and structured classroom.

Additionally, the students will have decorative items that will make the classroom feel more comfortable, warm and safe.
