it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Thank you for your precious time to read my request. Please pass forward the gift of reading to our at promise students at South Gate Middle School.
Through the book, Ghost by Jason Reynolds, our Emergent Bilingual/English Learners will be able to engage, connect, and improve their abilities to read.
I will work in collaboration with English Language Development Teachers to improve reading scores. Using school data, we will do four PDSA Cycles(Plan, Do, Study & Act), to implement effective instructional reading strategies. Our SMART Goal focuses on helping students learn how to read and comprehend what they are reading in alignment with the ELPAC reading domain task types. Students must pass the ELPAC with a score of 4 as one of the requirements to reclassify. Reading is one of the domains, along with listening, speaking, and writing. Through the amazing read of Ghost, we will be able to cross stitch the development of all four domains.
