My Students

My students are very bright and energetic. They love hands on projects and self-discovery. Unfortunately, because of their low economic status, it is difficult to obtain the educational stimulus supplies and tool needed for them. My students love to learn. They get excited about those "ah ha" self-discovery moments. Our school is a safe space for them. The home life for my students consist of single parents holding down more than 1 employment position, taking care of younger sibling (usually when a parent has gone to work), and receiving free breakfast and lunch at school.

At the end of a school day, many of my students do not want to go home.

They love being at our school. Many participate in sports and organizations offered at the school. As a teacher, I am constantly striving to provide the best opportunities for their mind to grow and expand. When I ask them what would they like to become, many of them want to go to college, some want to open their own business. I feel that I must provide the best opportunities and tools for my student's future. Because, they are not just my students but my children!

My Project

For our Social Studies, we must be able to interact in such items as native dancing, team role playing, and group discussion. However, with the new guidelines with the 6 feet distancing, the students have very limited space. The good news is my students will have laptops. They need desk space.

The organizers will help keep the students and their personal material safe by placing books, writing supplies and other items behind their seat.

Because of these organizers, the limited desk space is free up for hands on individual-laptop classroom activities and learning.
