Help me give my students the opportunity to learn problem solving and perseverance through brain games like Katamino, Pentago, and other amazing brain games!
My school is a Title I school with 65% Free and Reduced lunch. The students are hard working and range in ability levels from Special Education to Gifted and Talented with all grade levels and classrooms.
I teach all 43 fifth graders math as well as teaching my homeroom students science and social studies.
They are a diverse group of learners from all backgrounds. Students come into the classroom willing to try new concepts when you make it fun and engaging!
My Project
Games like Katamino and Pentago are excellent strategies games that give students the opportunity to challenge not only themselves but others as well. They are learning to problem solve and persevere through games. Games are a great way to teach resiliency in an engaging and non-threatening environment.
With a diverse set of 43 learners, teachers like myself need to be on top of their game!
Giving students the opportunity to learn through games keeps them wanting to come back to the classroom every day. They will be able to transfer the skills learned into the regular curriculum and in real life.
