My students are amazing. Each one is individual and adds to our classroom community. I teach 4th grade English Language Arts and have readers of all abilities. My students participate in AR Reading - this program motivates them to have a thirst for reading. We strive to give our students the opportunity to explore all types of fiction & nonfiction, high-interest books! Our school community, including our parents, principal, PTO, and teachers in all grade levels do all that they can to foster this love of school in our students.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will help give my readers of varying ability a challenge in their daily reading. The "Word Work for Big Kids" bundle, as well as the "Greek and Latin Roots Sketch Notes" will be used in small groups to help students improve their vocabulary knowledge. We will work on building word meaning by focusing on root words with prefixes and suffixes. The Word Work pages include a variety of ways to practice our weekly works, including games and center activities.
The Reading Wonders whole year bundle will include supplemental materials that focus on vocabulary, as well as comprehension of our weekly stories.
I will use these to focus on the specific skills each week.
