Help me give my students an Apple iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, so they have the ability to learn in a more engaging environment, where their teacher can be more mobile and students can easily participate because the whiteboard will now be mobile.
I am excited to begin my second year teaching First Grade! First Grade has been an exciting change after teaching Kinder for six years. I teach 20 students. Teaching such a young age group is a lot of fun! They have a lot of energy and are very excited and curious about life. That being said, I have a wide range of learning abilities in my classroom.
My students are very motivated and have the ability to do great things; and if I am afforded the opportunity to receive the gift of an important essential learning tool to make learning even more fun and engaging; I know the sky is the limit!
I want to help my students get as engaged in their learning as they can be.
My Project
This iPad and Apple Pencil will help me engage with students in real time. Right now I use a whiteboard and students watch from either their desk (spaced at least 3 ft. apart) or from the carpet for a limited amount of time which can make engaging and focusing difficult when they are so far away from me.
These new technology tools, along with new apps will help each student be more engaged and more likely to understand the task at hand.
These tools will also allow be to be more mobile around our classroom instead of being stuck to the whiteboard or underneath the document camera. I will be able to take everything with me on our "virtual whiteboard" while still maintaining good handwriting to model for students.
Not only will students be able to participate with their oral responses but they can receive their learning in real time interactively. Students will be able to share answers in their own handwriting using our new class "virtual whiteboard".
The technology will help all students feel more apart of the lessons and accommodate the different learning styles.
