My Students
"A place for everything and everything in its place" - Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin said it best. My students need 30 chair pockets in order to have everything in its place!
Ever lose something and end up unable to find it?
My students do that all the time. Pencils, books, papers, crayons, markers---you name it. They've lost it, misplaced it, or dropped it. My students are AMAZING kindergartners who just need a little structure in their lives. Chair pockets could do that for them!
My Project
My students need 30 chair pockets so that they will not lose all their stuff! The idea of chair pockets in my classroom is for organizational purposes only, but that isn't the only purpose for them. My students will be responsible for their chair pockets. Children need to learn responsibility at an early age, and chair pockets can help them do that. Everything in the pocket is theirs. They should not get the chair pocket dirty. They should not just jam things into it. They should be learning to keep their belongings in a neat place rather than scattered all over the place.
I am lucky enough to have these wonderful kindergartners, and I would like to be proud to say that I taught my students organizational skills as well as academic skills.
It is vital for students to start learning organizational skills as early as possible in order to achieve educational success!
