This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After 8 years of teaching in the upper grades, I decided to go back down to teach Kindergarten! I teach at a small school in a Title I district where all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. I currently have 23 four and five year olds who are curious and active, and who are exploring new ways to learn. I've been teaching expectations and routines for the last few weeks, and things are starting to fall into place. However, I think that chair pockets are something that my students could benefit from!
Chair pockets will help my students build responsibility and stay organized.
My students will store their journals, writing notebooks, and whiteboards in the chair pockets. Currently my students ahelp signify the color of each table. re at sitting at tables with six chairs. We have 5 sets of tables and my horseshoe table. I would like to get colored pockets that can
Furthermore, I am asking for items that I can use to help make and organize stations for ELA and Math! I utilize the card stock to create sets of cards, games, dry erase station boards, and much more. The baggies are used to help keep the stations organized at the tables. Funding this project will help get my student items that will help them to thrive in Kindergarten!
