My Students
My third graders are a great group of students! My classroom is made up of thirty eager third graders. I also have a wide range of reading and math abilities in my classroom. My reading levels range from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade.
It's important that I read with these children every day to get them on grade level by the end of the year.
Many of my students are very low readers, speak English as a Second Language, and get free or reduced-price lunch. All my students will do anything for anybody, especially the ESL students. We are always bringing the best out of everyone. Despite my students' backgrounds, they all have one thing in common, and that is their love of learning and helping others.
My Project
Having additional chairs, dedicated to the classroom's teaching tables, would make a tremendous logistical difference in my classroom. This new adjustable s chair would be placed at our two teaching tables and used during small group time throughout the day and for special projects, including author's chair.
Currently, whenever students want to use one of our teaching tables, they have to carry their own chair with them, across the classroom.
This makes for a chaotic, noisy and disruptive transition. Having this adjustable chair waiting for them at the teaching tables would make a tremendous difference in our daily schedule and would make our days smoother and easier, wasting less time and gaining more time for learning. Please help us if you can.
