My Students

We have a blessed group of students. Our children are all between the ages of 3 and 4 years old. They have all been diagnosed with different disabilities. All of them have goals related to fine motor, educational, and social skills. They have trouble using their hands to grip items such as cars, small building blocks, and crayons. The majority of our students are autistic, have Down syndrome, or are medically fragile; and they require a lot of different activities. Most of them live in low-income apartment households.

Many of our students are non-verbal and have limited mobility.

Since most of our students have returned to face-to-face learning we have been faced with many different challenges. Our students are having more whole group learning. This requires them to sit in chairs and learning from the large screen. With most of our children being so small and fragile the chairs that they are having to use are not supporting their needs. They really need the cube chairs, to give them side support and to be able to touch their feet on the floor.

We are hoping to be able with your donations to support their learning needs.

My Project

Think about when you sit in a chair and your feet dangle. How uncomfortable is it? We would like for you to know that our Pre-K students are all very small. Some of them even have mobility issues. This makes it very hard for our children to sit in regular kids' chairs. Our children have to use chairs that are made for grades Kindergarten thru 2nd grade. Most of our children's feet don't even reach the floor. This really causes a problem for them.

We would love for our kids to be able to tap the floor with their feet when they sit.

When we have a whole group we would love for them to be able to sit in a safe sturdy cube chair that they can touch the floor. This would help them to be able to stand up easier when doing music and movement. It would also help them to feel safer and less unbalanced. With small arm sides on the chairs, it will also help to balance them and give them a sense of their personal space.

Our children would use these chairs for the whole group, small group, and during snack/lunchtime. We really work hard to meet the needs of all our children and these cube chairs would be such a big help with their everyday learning at school.
