Help me give my students an immersive 7-Habits Media Center, inspiring Leader Lounge, and a welcoming back-to-school experience that supports leadership, teamwork, and a love of learning through our GrowingGreatness theme and the Leader in Me Lighthouse program.

My Project

We're building a school-wide wishlist to strengthen leadership at CGE. With your support, we’ll turn the Media Center into a space that sparks a love of reading and leadership, and create a Leader Lounge that motivates students and staff to grow, connect, and lead with purpose.

This year, our school theme is “Growing Greatness at CG: Rooted in Teamwork.” Through the Leader in Me program, our students—many of whom come from low-income backgrounds—are learning to see themselves as capable, confident leaders.

It’s a powerful program that helps students take ownership of their actions, set goals, and build important life skills. We’re creating a large indoor tree in our media center as a central visual in our school that will represent growth, teamwork, and leadership. Seeing the 7 Habits Tree brought to life in a real, shared space will help students better understand and connect with the lessons they’re learning. With the faux nature items included in our cart, we plan to transform our leader lessons into tangible, memorable experiences.

In addition, we’re building the Leader Lounge, a collaborative space for our teachers and students to work together and share ideas. Our student leader teams - Guys with Ties, Girls with Pearls, and School Safety Leaders will meet with staff in our leader lounge to brainstorm ways to improve our school and grow as leaders themselves. The decorations, posters, and incentives for students dedicated to GrowingGreatness in this wishlist will support our school culture and make our goals clear and meaningful to every student and staff member.

Finally, we will be hosting a back-to-school orientation for our students and parents to introduce our theme and goals for the upcoming school year. To promote excitement, we hope to get some decorations, greenery, garlands, florals, posters, markers, etc. to welcome new and returning families to our school community.
