C'est formidable...for Me and My Students, Engaging Materials in French!
Help me give my students some fantastic reading material in easy French, markers and easel paper to write and share ideas on, and iPad chargers to make sure their technology is ready to go.
My students are so special because they are working towards a common goal of becoming either bilingual or even trilingual. I work in a school that has a flourishing dual language program, so approximately 75% of my French class is composed of native Spanish speakers. They are now putting in the time to learn a third language, which is inspiring to me. The specific items I am requesting will make a difference to their learning because I am hoping to build their reading and speaking skills in French throughout the remainder of this school year and in future years. I would like to have my students focus on one short story per week, and the books I am requesting will be accessible yet challenging enough for them. I am in need of materials to further spark their interest in French (small games, coloring, techology), which is why I have also included iPad chargers and a few other related items on my list. My French classroom is in need of a refresh as far as new French decoration that is updated, clear, and easy for students to reference quickly. Finally, I always aim to include many lessons about Francophone countries in my instruction, so I like to have flags and texts about various French-speaking people included in my curriculum.
