This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an urban high school which lacks the necessary materials and resources for our students to thrive. Our neighborhood is high poverty and we are considered to be one of the most challenging schools in our area. I have taught here for 15 years and enjoy the creative spirit of my students. Over the years I have had the pleasure of seeing my students discover talents they never knew they had. I strive to expose them to as many diversified artistic experiences as I can.

My Project

Each student in Ceramics II should have their own set of tools to work on their special projects. The classroom tools are often lost or put away with a students work. This leaves the other students at a disadvantage when they are not available and have to share with their classmates. The students in Ceramics II will have the convenience and responsibility of taking care of their own set of tools which will be available to them throughout the year and help to keep up their productivity. The sets will then be passed on to the next Ceramics II class.
