Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are excited to introduce the our Student Leadership Initiative, a program designed to empower our students, promote social and emotional development while fostering a strong sense of community within our new school. This project seeks to establish a student leadership organization to provide a platform for students to voice their ideas, learn leadership skills, and contribute to the betterment of our school community.

The formation of student leadership offers a unique opportunity for students to develop crucial leadership skills such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making.

These skills are essential for academic success, personal growth, and future success. This inclusion cultivates a sense of agency and self-confidence, leading to improved self-esteem and emotional well-being. The craft organizers will help the students to learn organizational skills too.

Student leadership is instrumental in helping to build school and community culture. The student leadership initiative will help create a sense of belonging and ownership among students, making them feel invested in the school's success. This contributes to a more inclusive culture and tight-knit school community. Engaging students in activities using the Hasbro games and projects such as decorating photo frames to build memories their senior year and instill a sense of civic community and a commitment to giving back.

To successfully launch our Student Leadership Initiative we kindly request support from DonorsChoose to kick start this project by funding supplies, such as markers, paint, brushes etc enabling our students to develop essential social and emotional skills, build a stronger school community by creating posters and advertisements for school events.
