My Students

This is my third year at a wonderful school. The staff and the community have made me feel so welcome, and I can't wait to make this year the best yet!

This is my tenth year teaching kindergarten and my fifth year of half-day kindergarten.

My kiddos are here for 2.5 hours a day and man do we work while we are here. Letters and sounds, math, reading, centers, and BAM it is time to go!

COVID has really changed my classroom from a hands-on shared learning place to a hands-on your own materials and let's work together from our safe distance kind of place. I have found this means more prep on my end to continue to be able to provide my kids the hands-on experience we all crave.

My Project

Kindergarten is so fun. We all love to learn and play. We learn through manipulating materials that reinforce things we have learned.

Hands-on centers are a must!

This is still possible during COVID, but instead of one set of center cards or game materials, I need 8. Then my groups of 2 can have 2 centers each day of their own materials they can touch and move as they learn. Then they can be cleaned and sit for a week and a new group can share these materials as well!

This is a mindset shift from what we are used to, but with more printing, laminating, and cutting on my end, we can still have hands-on learning in a safe way!
