This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My day is spent addressing the needs of diverse learners. This group of first graders includes English Language Learners, high-achieving students, and struggling learners.
My school is located in a low-income area and is part of an urban school district in Southern California.
The majority of students who attend this school are eligible to receive Title I funding due to their socioeconomic status. 100% of the students receive free lunch.
The students in my class are motivated to learn but we need more center-based activities. Students learn best when they are having fun. My students' developmental stage requires students to explore and play. These center-based activities would help reinforce skills learned in whole group lessons.
My Project
These items will help create new and exciting student centers, as well enhancing student centers currently being used.
By donating to this project, you will help promote literacy and math.
These materials will help increase student focus and attention. Student’s academic achievement will increase due to student use of the exciting and interactive centers that can be used independently.
The book set by Mo Willems will excite students to use the reading center. The headphones will enable students to hear their computer adaptive programs when using their iPads. The CD/cassette player will allow students to listen to literature that introduces higher-level vocabulary. The magnetic math tiles will help reinforce skills learned.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
