Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are full of wonder about what they will learn in school each day. Our students are from low-income families and receive free or reduced cost breakfast and lunch throughout the year. Many of our students come from a Spanish speaking background or any number of other languages. Imagine coming to a new country and a new school and having no idea what is going on; for many of our students, that is what school is like.
Our students walk into class every day with a smile on their face, and they are eager and willing to participate and learn.
My Project
My students need new ELA and Math Centers. They need centers that will keep them engaged and learning but at the same time, having fun. My students need math games to reinforce what they have learned this year and to get them ready for next year. My students need reading and writing folder games to learn and remember strategies. They need sight word games and puzzles to move them up a reading level. The stamps and stamp pads will help my students practice their sight words. For Math they need math equivalency puzzles to practice different types of math. My students love Center Time and these awesome new centers will give them something new and exciting to love. The pattern block design cards gives them something fun to do during Math. My students will be sure to move up in their reading levels with these wonderful new materials.
