My Students
I am a special education teacher working in a first grade ICT classroom. As a teacher in a low-income district, my students face many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite all of these challenges, my students walk into school each morning eager and ready to learn. I'm looking to provide my students with meaningful and authentic learning experiences so that they are able to grow in all aspects of their lives.
My students are funny, creative, and love to move!
They thrive from being able to create and explore with hands-on materials. They want learn first grade "things" and are motivated to succeed just as much as I want them to!
In an ICT setting, we push for our students to thrive both academically and socially. We place a strong emphasis on building social skills, using kind words, having a caring heart, and working as a team! We are full of acceptance and learning to incorporate and appreciate each other's differences.
My Project
My students need fun, engaging, hands-on games to support their learning! We do a lot of our learning in SMALL GROUPS - it's what works best for our learners. There is a high need for both academic and emotional support in our classroom. Educational games are just what we're looking for!
My students thrive on hands-on activities in groups of 3-4 where they can support each other and feel independent.
Being able to physically unlock locks with keys that match addition sentences, fishing for sight words and more, will help engage and motivate my students in practicing their skills. Not only will these games support their academic needs by reinforcing phonics and math skills but will also support in their emotional growth as well. They will need to engage in appropriate play and problem solve.
