Help me give my students an opportunity to actively engage in learning as opposed to sitting and listening quietly. This includes games, flash cards, and other items.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am looking to incorporate learning centers into my teaching routine. Learning centers are "contained" sections of the classroom which are used to promote independent and self directed learning. They allow students the opportunity to practice and reinforce skills they have learned in either whole or small group instruction.
As a reading interventionist, I work with students who are significantly below grade level.
The learning centers will promote student engagement through active learning. The learning games will serve as a tool students can use to engage in work related conversations as oppose to sitting and listening quietly.
