Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students do not have access to a whiteboard because our school uses technological boards that interact with our computer screens.
Kids need hands-on activities more than screens and worksheets.
Students are more engaged when they are interacting with materials and each other. Worksheets and screens require students to isolate themselves, increasing the gap in their social skills that are already lacking because of COVID.
This board is great because students can use different magnetic items such as magnetic letters and numbers, ten frames, and other magnetic activities. They can also work together using the markers to record their ideas and collaborate. Plus, it is much more engaging when they can use alternative writing tools like markers.
This board also has the extra bonus of being able to turn into a table for puzzles, games, or science activities!
