My Students
Our strings program is growing bigger each year. We have many students on the wait list and we really need instruments.
My students are eager learners in a low income environment.
They have all the drive and motivation in the world but they are unable to afford instruments. Every student no matter what deserves the chance to be successful in their musical endeavors. This project will help the string program for many years to come. We have three cellos that are currently in bad shape (even taped up). Students deserve the chance to play on proper instruments.
My Project
Students will be able to learn the cello and viola starting in the 5th grade. Right now one of our cellos would cost more to fix than a brand new one and one viola currently being used. In order to keep the program growing we desperately need this instrument. Students will take lessons on this cello and will be able to perform with the Northwood orchestra on the instrument.
Recent research has found that music uses both sides of the brain, a fact that makes it valuable in all areas of development.
Music affects the growth of a child’s brain academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
This project will make all the difference in the world for my students. I have so many eager learners that want to play an instrument but we have none available. This cello will make all the difference.
