Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The specific items I am requesting will make a great difference because it will allow for students to represent scientific features and occurrences through artistic depictions. Since art is not an area of study that is given high priority in daily academic curriculums, students will have the unique ability to represent their artistic inclinations through a science connection.
The goals for my project are for students to create eclipses with colored chalk to show how the natural phenomena is displayed in the sky.
I would also like for students to have the opportunity to create paintings with 3D planets that will represent the students' understanding of astronomical units and the distance between the planets and the sun.
My students are special because all children are special and have their own unique traits and abilities. I want to give them the chance to tap into their artistic abilities and give them the opportunity to practice some painting and drawing through mediums they haven't tried before or haven't practiced in a long while.
