Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing, curious, and full of creativity. During occupational therapy, we work on building fine motor skills, focus, and emotional expression—but we also strive to help each child feel seen, valued, and connected. This project will allow my students to explore their own cultural identities while learning about others through hands-on, meaningful activities.

With your support, we will add cultural and holiday-themed craft kits, puzzles featuring children from around the world, and diverse books that reflect a variety of races, ethnicities, and traditions.

These tools will not only help students build fine motor and cognitive skills but will also open up conversations about heritage, inclusion, and community.

By incorporating these resources into our OT sessions, children will gain confidence in who they are while developing empathy and understanding of others. Each activity is a small step toward celebrating diversity and belonging—something every child deserves.
