Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a teacher at a Title I school outside of Salt Lake City, UT. My students come with a variety of backgrounds, including low income households, households where English is a second language, families that reside at the local homeless shelter, and students who are refugees from another country. They deserve to have tools that will help them grow in all subject areas, and I know this project has items listed that will support my students!

Most of the resources are tools for teaching and learning about the Lunar New Year!

It's important for my students to learn about various countries, their traditions and beliefs, and respecting all countries. In this project, I have listed chocolate coins for the Lunar New Year, a dragon craft activity, as well as scratch fortune papers for students! These activities will help students connect with the Lunar New Year and feel engaged in the material we will read about!

My project is also seeking dry erase circles, a paper organizer, and a postcard book to engage students during small group instruction, as well as help me organize their materials we are using throughout the day! We hope you are able to support us with this amazing project, thank you so much!
