This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 5th ESL Language Arts and Reading teacher at a "Title I" school who witnesses children on a daily basis entering into my classroom with a variety of learning styles, emotional, and social disadvantages. I am on a mission to establish and maintain a classroom environment that promotes positive behavior through multiple reinforcement strategies. My project targets students' confidence and self-esteem. When students see that their good behavior is acknowledged, they feel valued and more motivated to engage in similar behaviors. I plan to use the items: sensory slime, stress relief fidget spinners, variety pack snacks, and mechanical pencils to reward students when they demonstrate positive behavior.
