Help me update my classroom library with books that highlight a variety of different cultures that represent my students' diversity. Students love stories and their eyes light up when they can identify with characters that look. It's so exciting when children read about similarities and differences that inspire them to to make connections with both their own lives as well as their classmates'.
It is important to teach young children to respect and celebrate each other.
Stories can introduce different cultural aspects, offer new experiences and viewpoints, and teach children to appreciate similarities, differences and respect one another.
In my classroom, celebrating our uniqueness has helped us build a special classroom community. I want to continue growing our minds by reading stories from around the world!
