My Students

This will be my first year teaching Special Education, after 13 years as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher. My students are special needs students who need a lot of hands-on materials to gain their interest, as well as to help them learn. They range from being verbal to non-verbal, from readers to non-readers, and from independent to students requiring extra support. No matter their disability, they are all special and unique and I want to help make coming to school special and fun.

My Project

Dr. Seuss is a favored author throughout the country and it is the same in my classroom. This year, my students would like to become the Cat in the Hat, as well as Thing 1 and Thing 2. The requested costumes would allow my students to become these characters. Students will love the balloons floating around the room as they eat goldfish and cupcakes at the end of the day.

My students will also be dancing to "I'm Not that Bad" from The Lorax movie.

The inflatable instruments will let them feel like they are in a rock band because the style of the song is like a rock song.
