This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Black History Month is coming up in February and what better way to teach students about the historical prominent figures that paved the way for all people today, than through art! Black History Month is an important time in education to teach and elevate the minds of those who are unaware of black peoples historical struggles and accomplishments. From writers like James Baldwin and artists like Aaron Douglas it is important that black history is taught and celebrated, especially in education. With that being said, I would love to be able to give my students a memorable, yet teachable art project to commemorate black history month!

The tracing paper and watercolor supplies will be used to create portraits of African American heroes, those who have shaped history that made America what it is today!

The colors of the world markers and paint pens are especially essential for accurately representing our heroes! I hope that you will help me provide my students with these essential supplies that are needed in order to foster inspiration and creativity, while creating their beautiful projects!
