My Project
Students often need motivation to learn and give their best each day. Celebrating their successes throughout the year is a great way to encourage growth and participation when they are ready for the holidays or summer break and still have to learn.
Popcorn is a healthier alternative to candy and students love it.
When I mention that we can have popcorn if they do well, they all get excited and encourage each other to stay focused and put in their best efforts.
Until recently I have used microwave popcorn, borrowing several other teachers' microwaves to make enough popcorn for 25-30 students each period. Time-consuming, it takes most of the class period, and many students don't get popcorn until the last few minutes. Because of this, I do not do it as often as I would like to. A large popcorn machine would allow me to make more at one time so everyone could enjoy it at the same time.
