Celebrate Students With It's Okay To Be Different Books

Help me give my students "It's Okay to be Different" books by Todd Parr to celebrate who they are as end of the school year gifts.

My Students

All of my students are learning remotely full-time during unprecedented times. They have already had their worlds turned upside down in March, overnight without any warning that schools would be closed. Now that we are well into our school year, I want to provide them with all the resources they need to learn effectively at home.

My students are from a Title I school where more than three‑quarters of students come from low‑income households.

My Project

I want to give my students a special gift for the end of the school year. Also, coinciding with Pride Month in June, I want students to love and celebrate who they are with "It's Okay To Be Different" books by Todd Parr. I want students to have a special token of my love and appreciation for all the identities my students have.

If my students can remember this remote school year, I want them to have a copy of "It's Okay To Be Different" by Todd Parr.

It's hard enough that my students didn't get to socialize in a school setting this year. I want them to know that I love them for all the identities that shined through on Zoom and to start third grade with the same confidence they demonstrated on Zoom.
