This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm very fortunate to be a part of a very unique program. In 2018, my school district opened a Dual Immersion Hmong Program. At the time, there were only four classrooms. Of course, with the start of a new program, there will always be obstacles to overcome. As the years go by, I've found that there is one that is a challenge and will continue to be. My classroom library has been limited in multicultural books in Hmong and books to promote diversity. My students deserve to have multicultural books where they can see themselves reflected in.

My classroom needs rich literature in Hmong and books to promote diversity in the classroom.

My goal is to start a classroom library that is not only warm and inviting but to have books that are culturally diverse. I want my students to be successful and know that they too can succeed in their dreams. This donation is essential to that success.
