My students need an updated cd player for music and movement lessons, for our listening center to play listening lotto games and listen to books on CDs.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Music and movement is so importatnt to preschool students especially those with special needs. It helps promote sensory integration, following directions, imitation and listening skills. Listening lotto games help increase students auditory processing skills and sound recognition.
The classroom is a preschool special education inclusionary model room.
There are typically developing peers along with students with special needs. The ages are 3-5. There is a morning and afternoon session. This program is housed in an elementary school setting.
My Project
The CD player will allow for music and movement lessons to be once again implemented into lesson plans. These lessons help promote sensory integration, following directions, imitation and listening skills. Listening lotto games help increase students auditory processing skills and sound recognition. Books on cd's allow for students to follow alongin a book being read independently. In a group setting it allows for the teacher to stop the cd player and discuss what is happening in the story, label nouns actions etc...It helps promote language and literacy skills.
These students are in desperate need of this cd player to complete the special education preschool inclusionary programs curriculum.
Music and movement lessons, books on cd's and listening lotto games are imperative to preschool students learning.
