Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Is cat spelled with a C or a K teacher? I teach Kindergarten in a low income community where 100% of our students receive free and reduce lunch.
My students have just learned their ABC sounds and are eager to start reading and writing. Unfortunately, we lack hands on material where students can take their adventurous learning ability and apply to concrete real words.
Fortunately, there is always a solution to a problem! My students will benefit from a language learning center. These activity centers will enable my students to learn and identify uppercase & lowercase letters, letter sounds, recognize CVC words, initial & final sounds, forming letters, rhyming sounds, copying printed words, medial vowel sounds, word patterns, recognizing sight-words, matching blends/digraphs, phoneme substitution, word syllables, with hands on projects that will give them the tools to become successful readers!
With your help my students will learn to read and will hold a strong foundation for their upcoming school years.
